JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing practical solutions to improve manufacturing processes with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of the full manufacturing process, from raw material receipt through finished product and packaging

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams in a cross-functional environment to solve problems, gain buy-in, and support the implementation of new processes.
  • Identify sources of manufacturing variation and partner with Design, Production, and Maintenance teams to reduce or eliminate process inconsistencies.
  • Apply Continuous Improvement principles and tools to manufacturing processes.
  • Research, analyze, and develop cost justifications for new methods, procedures, equipment, and materials.
  • Evaluate the production capacity of existing operations and recommend as well as implement improvements as needed.
  • Work within ERP systems to evaluate processes, generate reports, and perform production analysis.
  • Provide strong leadership in eliminating EH&S, ergonomics, and human factors risks.
  • Interpret mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical prints, including ladder logic.
  • Develop CAD models and CNC programs to support estimating and production needs.
  • Understand manufacturing costs and lead cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Perform calculations and create design layouts to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Use Lean Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and process variation while improving KPIs.
  • Recommend and support CAPEX projects for new equipment, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Packaging, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred, with plastics experience strongly preferred.
  • Project management experience, including implementation of CAPEX projects, is preferred.

LANGUAGE

  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
