Production Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Thermoforming production operation at Nefab.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate all day-to-day manufacturing related activities within a facility that produces thermoformed plastic products for all shift operations.
- Manage personnel including selection, training, evaluation, and discipline in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Foster a positive, results-oriented work environment that is focused on quality, on-time delivery, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methods. Organizational personnel include department/shift leads, press operators, material handlers, machine maintenance, and tooling.
- Manage all aspects of the manufacturing and production operations to ensure production schedules are met in accordance with customer demand and delivery commitments.
- Monitor key plant production and quality metrics and analyze statistical data to make recommendations that improve production and quality performance.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Site Manager for materials requirements, and maintenance plans.
- Coordinate all materials related to production including packaging and handle waste generated from operations.
- Monitor the quality of the products and make recommendations and decisions coordinated with quality management on actions to correct quality issues. Promote quality management processes.
- Promote and maintain adherence to the plant safety program. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Four-year college degree, preferably a BS in Plastics Engineering, Production Management or other engineering.
- Experience in thermoforming operations and processing
- Prior direct personnel management experience, organizational and strong leadership skills with the ability to build effective teams
- Must be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to define actionable conclusions and make decisions to resolve manufacturing issues and disruptions.
- Prior Quality Management system experience.
- The ability to analyze manufacturing operations, identify areas for improvement, develop solutions, and present concepts/ideas to senior management for approval. Also records and reports on production results, advising upper management of potential or actual shortfalls
- A proven ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Prioritize and plan the work activities of others and use resources and time efficiently.
- Use a variety of computer programs and systems, at an intermediate level, including Word, Excel, Email, PowerPoint, etc.
LANGUAGES
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
