JOB SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production floor activities and supporting the Production Department overall. This role ensures production goals are met through effective leadership, communication, planning, and compliance with quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with Scheduling, Purchasing, Engineering, and Program Managers on production schedules, forecasts, and material requirements.
- Lead shift hand-off meetings and ensure effective communication of operational updates.
- Maintain proper 5S standards and support lean manufacturing improvements to increase throughput.
- Train team members on proper inspection, packaging, and quality requirements.
- Forecast upcoming workload and adjust staffing levels as needed.
- Ensure the team is properly trained in part quality requirements.
- Work with area supervisors to support daily production activities.
- Set up machinery as needed to produce quality parts.
- Help ensure departments maintain 85% overall efficiency.
- Implement and enforce safety policies and ensure compliance.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Prior direct personnel management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve manufacturing issues and disruptions.
- Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage time efficiently, and delegate effectively.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Word, Excel, Email, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and write in English; bilingual preferred.
- Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read part prints and bills of materials.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.
