Sourcing and Procurement Manager

Job Summary
The Sourcing and Procurement Manager plays a key role in driving the sourcing strategy, managing procurement processes, and building strong supplier relationships. This position is essential in identifying new suppliers, seeking cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials, both Direct and Indirect, to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record in procurement and supplier management within a manufacturing environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the sourcing process for both Direct and Indirect materials, with a focus on identifying new suppliers to support new models and projects.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through effective sourcing and procurement strategies.
- Manage the entire procurement process, including sourcing, price comparison, vendor selection, follow-up, expediting incoming parts, and planning for Direct material.
- Ensure the availability of critical materials by maintaining KPIs to prevent component shortages.
- Manage the procurement of Indirect materials to ensure the timely supply of goods and services needed for business operations.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure the best terms, while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the production, quality, design engineering and business development teams, to align sourcing strategies with overall business goals.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and audits to ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Monitor market trends to identify new sourcing opportunities and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain.
- Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies that contribute to the company's profitability and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or any related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial packaging environment.
- Experience with plastic packaging, corrugated materials, wood material, and metal components is an advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier evaluation, negotiation, and management.
- Extensive understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, cost management, and supplier relationship management.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with solid experience in team management and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Strong track record in driving cost-saving initiatives and achieving procurement KPIs.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
Skills and Competences
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively with global suppliers and internal teams. Chinese language skills will be a strong advantage.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and procurement software.
- A valid car driving license with the ability to drive in Thailand.
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and successfully navigate complex, high-stakes negotiations.
