Job description

The facility QHSE (Quality/ Health and Safety/ Environmental) Coordinator main responsibility is to support the development and execution of the local quality/environmental/ H&S management systems. This includes conducting or ensuring regular and irregular inspections relevant to production and supplier quality, health, and safety, and environmental, support corrective and preventative actions, create quality alerts.  

This position reports directly to the Site Manager while working side-by-side with the other key team members to include the Regional Quality Manager, Regional Health & Safety Manager and group Quality/H&S organization.    

This person will be key to identifying, documenting, and driving the initiatives for quality/ environmental improvement.    In addition, this individual will support the Health and Safety regulations and day to day maintenance with local leadership.   

They will support and promote a culture of operational excellence with a focus on quality through training, coaching, and internal audits, while leveraging all available support service resources from the Nefab South East region and Nefab Americas organization.   

Your profile

  • BS Degree minimum
  • 3+ years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience participating in, or leading ISO audits, and a proven track record of success
  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing strategies and methodologies; knowledge of 8D Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong customer-facing skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships with high visibility customers and understand how to be a resolver of problems.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and be comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization and with customers and vendors.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • 1 to 3+ years of experience working in inspection or a Quality role with people leadership a plus.
  • Experience with identifying and documenting gaps in processes through Root Cause failure analysis.
  • Manufacturing experience with a focus in manufacturing, construction, and/or building materials industry preferred.
  • ISO environment – 9001 & 14001
  • ISO 9001&14001 Internal Auditor
  • OSHAs
  • Use of quality measuring tools such as callipers, measuring tapes, and etc a plus.
  • 5S, Lean, and other continual improvement tools a plus

Skills and Competences:

  • Strong customer facing skills; ability to support the development and maintenance of relationships with high visibility customers and understand how to be a resolver of problems.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills and be comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers.
  • Quality improvement thinker, strong team player, and team builder, who has a can-do attitude and have a hands-on, take-ownership approach.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Understanding of a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Quality improvement tools for problem solving – 8D, Root Cause, process capability.
  • Ability to interpret shop drawings and job specifications.
  • Ability to work independently.

Health, Safety and Environmental Obligations:

  • Work with General Manager / Production Manager to track safety hours worked without incident and update reporting boards.
  • Identify unsafe work habits, report, and work with General Manager / Production Manager to implement any changes accordingly.
